Frank Woltjes living in Wildervank, The Netherlands received in 1996 a donor-kidney. Because of this transplantation he was able to join the World Transplant Games 2003 in Nancy, France.
The parents of Frank were also present during these games. The whole enviroment and atmosphere around the games gave them chicken-skin (goose-bombs). 
Frank won three medals. Gold for swimming, silver for athletics and bronze for tennis.
Directly after the games Frank’s parents decided to try to raise a foundation. 
A foundation focused on transplanted children to let them join the World Transplant Games in the future.
Three friends of Frank, started this foundation on request of Frank’s parents.

December 30, 2003 the foundation :

STICHTING FRIENDS OF FRANK

was founded and officially registrated.

The goals of the foundation :

-         Highlight and promote organ-donation all around the world.
-         Give transplanted and sporty children the possibility to pass the selection of the WTGN
-         Find sportfacilities and trainers for the transplanted children.
-         Show the world that transplanted children are back on the track after a succesfull transplantation and can act on a high level in the several sportevents.
